Egyptian nationalism unsettles imperial-colonial binaries. [contrarian]
By revealing the intrinsic alterity of the "colonized colonizer" theme in important articulations of Egyptian nationalism, my study challenges many accepted tenets of the binary relationship between European empires and non-European colonies still prevalent within the fields of postcolonial, cul- tural, African, and Middle Eastern studies.
