Uräbï's rank-and-file were reassigned to Sudan. [fact]

After the trials of the Uräbï rebellion were over, Uräbï and his six closest associates were sentenced to exile in Ceylon.The punishment for many of the soldiers of lesser rank who had participated in the rebellion was reassignment to the Sudan to fight the Mahdï (a fate considered by many to be equal to capital punishment).
