A botched raid launched the FLN with its first funds [fact]

Amateurishly mounted, the raid netted a sum of three million francs (little more than £3,000), while leaving ten times this amount scattered on the floor; nevertheless, this modest booty provided the future F.L.N. with its first operational funds. But although it was constructed on a system of watertight compartments that was to be successfully emulated later by the F.L.N., the security of the O.S. was poor and French intelligence efficient.

DEFINE: O.S. (Organisation Spéciale) clearly introduced here as the predecessor whose compartmentalization structure the FLN later emulated.
