The students also keep journals of their listening experiences. [fact]
The important thing for me is facilitating a community of creative interest. Creativity is inborn—a birthright that is often suppressed by social imperatives. I try in my classes to open the gates so that the creative spirit of the students can flourish. I do this through listening and encouraging listening, sharing and discussion. My students listen by doing field recording, then sharing their files to make pieces. The students also keep journals of their listening experiences.
