Anti-Muslim parties gained significant power in European parliaments. [fact]
The British think tank Demos has summed up this growing trend nicely: "Formerly on the political fringes, these [anti-Muslim political] parties now command significant political weight in the parliaments of Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Hungary, the Netherlands, Sweden, Latvia and Slovakia, as well as the European Parliament." Because of their growing political market share, far-right Islamophobic racists are going to be a part of the political scene in Europe for the immediate and foreseeable future. They are not going to fade away, or get tired and go home. European politicians have realized that inciting hate against some of Europe's most vulnerable immigrant minorities can be a path to electoral power.
