Anti-Sharia bills trace to a boilerplate template origin. [fact]
According to the Haas Institute at the University of California-Berkeley, most of the boilerplate language from these anti-Sharia bills was directly copied from “The American Laws for American Courts Act.” This was the title for a boilerplate template piece of legislation shopped around to conservative state legislatures by the anti-Sharia advocacy group the American Public Policy Alliance, and written by—you guessed it—the aforementioned David Yerushalmi himself.
DEFINE: Identifies 'The American Laws for American Courts Act' as the boilerplate template legislation behind most anti-Sharia bills.
