Oklahomans overwhelmingly backed a law against a nonexistent threat. [fact]
In response to these growing legislative attacks resulting from these newly-moneyed activists, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) joined a legal challenge against a proposed amendment to the Oklahoma Constitution which would have targeted the religious practices of American Muslims. Although the right-wing political co-sponsors of this terrible Oklahoma legislation publicly admitted that there had been literally zero instances of so-called “Sharia” threats in the Sooner State, they still nonetheless decided to call their stupid proposal the “Save Our State Amendment,” which ultimately passed with over 70 percent of the vote.
QUESTION: Was the Oklahoma anti-Sharia amendment later struck down in court? Worth verifying the legal outcome of the ACLU challenge.
QUESTION: What eventually became of the Save Our State Amendment in court, given ACLU involvement?
