The NSC memo portrayed Islamists as monolithic enemies of Trump [causal]
To highlight the disastrous impact of this Trump-ian thinking, I note that a leaked National Security Council (NSC) memo written by then-NSC Director of Strategic Planning Rich Higgins outlined the conspiratorial manner in which the Trump administration believed that Islamists, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the fifty-seven-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) were allegedly working together as monolithic Muslim enemies seeking to undermine Donald Trump in an absurd mafia-like manner with no proof offered whatsoever.
QUESTION: What evidence, if any, validated or refuted the memo's claims? How widely was this conspiratorial thinking adopted within the administration?
