Lewis linked Islamic doctrine to inherent fundamentalism and violence. [fact]

In 1990, Bernard Lewis, a historian who specializes in Islam, wrote an article titled “The Roots of Muslim Rage” for the Atlantic magazine, in which he argued that Islam inherently lends itself to fundamentalism and violence, something that Lewis does not believe is characteristic of Western Judeo-Christian societies.
