Muslim women and men experience racialization through different gendered paths. [causal]
Because religious symbols are gendered, the experiences of Muslim women and men with racialization do not mirror one another. It is therefore imperative to understand the locations where gender, religion, and race intersect. In addition to understanding how Muslims are racialized differentially, as I chronicle in the previous chapters, scholars should also recognize how responses to racialization are also gendered.
