According to a report on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) by the Government Accountability Office, violence committed by white supremacists and alt-right groups has resulted in almost the same number of deaths of innocent Americans as those committed by Muslims (Government Accountability Office 2017). The main difference is that Muslim terrorists committed fewer attacks, while domestic white terrorists committed more attacks, killing fewer in each assault. And yet, even with this data, President Trump has said he would revamp the CVE program by only focusing on "radical Islamic terrorism" ignoring the increased violence that is perpetrated by white supremacists, white nationalists, and antigovernment groups.
