Medieval art linked Jews and Muslims as Christ's executioners [fact]

This image of Jewish cynocephalie as Christ-killers reinforces a common medieval trope about both Jews and Muslims as the executioners of Christ, because the existence of one, as I have argued earlier, conjured up the appearance of the other. In early Renaissance art, Jews and Muslims are often pictured together, present at the Crucifixion, as in Figure 2.6, a fifteenth-century painting of the Passion.
