This ethic is deeply imbedded in the major religions. [fact]

I cannot believe that any amount of economic training would wholly eliminate the instinctive dislike of a system of organizing economic life through the search for profits. It will still appear to many intellectuals that a system in which men were driven by a reasonably selfless devotion to the welfare of other men would appear superior to one in which they sought to their own preferment. This ethic is deeply imbedded in the major religions.
