Today, when interpretations of the WLC try to connect the different individuals attending. [connection]

Today, when interpretations of the WLC try to connect the different individuals attending the Paris colloquium of 1938 and make sense of the heterogeneous group of participants, they have failed to look at the institutional framework within which the WLC was realized. The list of participants in Paris included the international mix of experts characteristic of the IIIC who had already been involved with the League in one way or another, including representatives from knowledgeand policy-making institutions and practitioners from banks or large industries. When the list of invitees is broadened to include all those who were not able (or did not want) to attend the colloquium, the weight of the League’s IIIC and the Rockefeller Foundation becomes even more obvious.
