I used to plan to stay at a different place each night, always moving on, noticing the changes from place to place but not noticing the changes in one place. I’ve learned the wisdom of staying put. There is so much that goes on in one place, and though largely repetitive from day to day, if you look and listen closely, you discover subtle variations, even minute to minute. It takes a minimum of several days in one place to know it, in my opinion.
