In 1545 rich silver deposits were located at Potosi. [fact]

In 1545 rich silver deposits were located at Potosi in what is now Bolivia and three years later more at Zacatecas in Mexico. By the 1560s, when Drake first saw the Caribbean, the mines were producing upon a large and regular scale, and a transatlantic trade between Seville and the New World had emerged.
