BarCamp is constructed as an authentic space where the ideals of collectivity can flourish without the infiltration of profit motives. The BarCamp format has proven immensely popular and has been used for hundreds of conferences worldwide; in 2009, there were more than 450 BarCamps in sixty-seven countries.
