← The Capital Order

During World War I. [fact]

During World War I, the political states of both Britain and Italy broke capitalist dogma and forcefully intervened in their countries’ economies. For the political survival of each state, these interventions were necessary: they sought to promote the necessary capital accumulation to win the war, even while they sullied the sanctity of freemarket capitalism in the process.
