Fascist and Liberal economists shared a belief in the power and good of a government made up of economic experts— a technocracy. Th ey also agreed that the policies necessary to ensure sound economic principles were neither political nor pursuant of any partisan interest; they were simply true. It is the role and the duty of experts to defi ne and implement them.
