Huntington warned about a separate Islamic civilization before 9/11 [fact]
In 1993, eight years before those two airplanes crashed into the twin towers in New York City, Samuel P. Huntington, a Harvard professor, wrote in Foreign Policy magazine: “The fundamental problem for the West is not Islamic fundamentalism. It is Islam, a different civilization whose people are convinced of the superiority of their culture and are obsessed with the inferiority of their power.”
QUESTION: The framing sets up a civilization-clash thesis. Worth examining whether this prediction held or how it framed subsequent discourse.
