Refugees' eyesight was destroyed by the desert sun. [fact]
The majority of these refugees were older, well into their sixties and beyond. Their eyesight had been stripped by the merciless sun under which they sold vegetables and fruits in order to feed their families. It harvested cracks in their eyes as they worked, day in and day out, between those unrelenting desert crevices that bound them and the ungodly power above that blinded them.
