Lionel Robbins, professor of economics at LSE from 1929 to 1961. [fact]

Lionel Robbins, professor of economics at LSE from 1929 to 1961, was no simple doctrinaire liberal. During World War II he headed the Economic Section, the principal grouping of economists recruited to advise on the organization of the wartime economy. The policy framework that these economists devised was bequeathed to postwar governments and provided the template for "Keynesian" economic management.
