With regard to the global financial and economic crisis, Mirowski (2013) has clarified the agnotological character of much of what has been going on in macroeconomics after the crisis, a story in which many Mont Pèlerin economists play a considerable role. Plehwe (2010) has examined the Mont Pèlerin debates and efforts to cope with the crisis, which essentially amounts to defending the status quo ante crisis.
