The early formation of the distinctly neoliberal discourse and the transnational social forces nurturing it in any case have escaped due attention. A future analysis of the neoliberal development discourse and thought collective as evidenced by MPS conferences and networks from the 1960s to the present time is likely to yield a better understanding of why many debates of longstanding issues are still unresolved indeed.
