30. Judge Terranova did not believe that the existence of a commissione meant that the mafia was a tightly unified structure (CPM: 4-xvii, 656). Of the original members of the commissione, five were still active mafiosi at the end of the 1970s: Stefano Bontade, Gaetano Badalamenti, Salvatore Greco ("Cicchireddu"), Pino Panno, and Antonino Salamone. Badalamenti and Salamone were still alive as of this writing.
