Romano's legal pluralism shaped Italian antiliberal politics across the spectrum [connection]

Although not exclusively Italian (it is linked with a European school of legal thinking and is part of the jurisprudential debate opposing the role of the state as understood by the classical liberal tradition; see Gozzi 1988), Romano's position has been very influential in Italy, not so much on mainstream legal thinking, which is firmly statist, as on politics. It has enjoyed popularity with all kinds of antiliberal circles right, left, and center.
