For Kennedy, not only must both speech and capital circulate freely. [contrarian]

For Kennedy, not only must both speech and capital circulate freely, the only enemy to such freedom is government. This formulation links all members of society and economy, from the poorest citizen to the richest corporation, as potential victims of government interference or censorship. As individuals and corporations are thus allied—even identified with one another in the perils they face—the distinctive power of corporate speech, more than glossed over, is converted into a cause.
