People can conspicuously halt once fully inside a setting [causal]

Persons who avoid taking a reading at all may be said to have reached a position whenever they come to a halt, or, in the case of those backing in, whenever they turn around. They are by this time far enough into the setting so that they may simply stop and stand without being conspicuous. The spotlight is off once the approach has been completed, although the length of the approach area will vary from setting to setting.

DEFINE: Explains the technical term 'reading' in Erving Goffman's spatial-behavior framework, where reaching a position ends the socially conspicuous approach phase.
