So it is not surprising that Arabs were targeted, despite the fact that it was the Jewish Defense League (JDL) that had committed known and verified acts of terrorism in the United States. In fact, according to a Rand Corporation study, JDL was one of the most active terrorist groups (as classified by the FBI) for more than a decade. Yet it was Arabs who were automatically suspected of “terrorist” activities.
